We believe Small Groups are really important in the life of the church. Each one is slightly different and we encourage people to find one that suits them. We generally follow up on the material we have looked at on the Sunday and think about how we can apply it to our lives. We want to be the best that we can be and it is easy to forget what was said on a Sunday even if we though it was highly relevant. At the moment we have four groups:
Monday Group meet 1:00-2:30 in the Church Lounge
Tuesday Group meet 8:00-9:30 in someone’s home
Wednesday Group meet 7:00-8:30 in the Church Lounge
Thursday Group meet 7:30-9:00 at the Manse
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks.
Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.
It runs in cafe’s, churches, universities, homes – you name it.
No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.
Next course will run after Easter
Our Contact Centre runs every two weeks on Saturday morning and afternoon. It helps non-resident parents maintain contact with their children when family life has broken down. If you want to know more pleas ring Ann on 07981 686965
Our youth group runs on the first and third Sundays of the month. It is open to all the youth who attend churches in Bingley and their friends. The first Sunday of the month we meet at Holy Trinity and reflect on some faith based theme. On the third Sunday of the month we have a drop-in at Bingley Baptist. Both meetings start at 6:00 pm
We pray on Monday morning for those going to work. Work is really important and we want to support those in work and seeking work, that their jobs will be a blessing to them and richly rewarding. We pray for the work of the church and the blessing of our community, that all would flourish.
We meet as men to encourage one another and pray for one another in our Christian life. We meet the last Saturday of the month, 8:00-9:00 am, over a cooked breakfast, before we go and participate in family life for the weekend.
We encourage people to pray for each other and pray for their neighbours and friends. We believe in prayer and expect great things to happen when we pray. We set aside people to pray at the end of each Sunday Service to pray with those that would especially appreciate someone to pray with them
Rewind to Christmas and Rewind to Easter are sessions we do with Year 4 Primary School children where we explore what Christians believe about Christmas and Easter. All the churches in Bingley participate and all the Primary Schools join in. We have a fantastic time together. FastForward is for Year 6 Primary School children in the summer term as they get ready to move to their new school. It explores what Christians believe about a God who helps then through all the challenges and choices of life.
Open the Book
Open the book is a fantastic way of telling children the key Bible Stories and helping them think about what it means for their life and our community. A team of people from various churches go into schools to take Assemblies, about once every three weeks, and we take these stories into three of our local Primary Schools
Fish ‘n’ Chip Fridays
It’s the weekend! On the first Friday of every month we bring our fish ‘n’ chips and mushy peas (though you can bring other things) and spend an hour together. Its a great way to relax and start the weekend.
